Hell on earth.
That's what it's like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend Daniel. It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away. Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts-immortals who want to kill Luce. Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.
At shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn't told her everything. He's hiding something - something dangerous.
To be honest with you, it took me forever to get thought this book. Clearly because it was Torment for me. Okay maybe a little harsh but I did have to make myself finish reading something I had very little interest in. I did have high hopes, and sadly felt disappointed as I kept reading. I just couldn't understand Luce and her horrible attitude. Daniel was off fighting for there love & relationship and there Luce was complaining the entire time. I really was also hoping for some answers and for some information about Luce's past. I felt at the end of the book I had more question then when I first started it.
I am giving this book 2 stars and I will read Passion only to hopefully get some answers.

The second novel in the addictive FALLEN series.... where live never dies.

On her first day, she meets Arriane, an excitable and enigmate girl who immediatley takes a liking to Luce. On her first day at Sword & Cross, Luce finds herself meeting the handsome Cam and being drawn to the fascinating Daniel, who seems to ahev a mixed feeling for her. She also meets Penn, the daughter of the now deceased caretaker. Luce also makes enemies with Mollly. She also feels as if Daniel is familiar. Luce falls in love with Daniel, and with the help of Penn, and the librian she uncovers a secret that Daniel has been keeping from her. Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Fallen is a page turning thriller and the ultimate love story.
I really liked the way the book started out, and it kept me hooked through till the end. I really liked were there's that mystery right in the beginning. I wanted to find out what happened to Trevor and Luce's involvement. I liked Luce's character and of course fell in love with the "hot" Daniel. I also enjoyed Cam and his naughtiness. I was really curious to find out what Cam was all about. It kept the mystery throughout the book for me but the end was a little expected. I'm really interested in finding out about Luce's past lives. Hopefully Torment will give me what I'm looking for.
I gave this book 4 stars and I'm excited to start reading the next book!

Fallen
There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.
Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.
Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce, and goes out of his way to make that very clear, she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret.. even if it kills her.

Hush, Hush Saga by Becca Fitzpatrick
Hush, Hush (Hush, Hush Saga #1)
For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along.
With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.
But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or un and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.
For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life.
Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie
Matched (Matched Trilogy Series #1)
Cassie has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her, what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knowns he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.
The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xavier. But Cassie can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice between Xander and Ky. Between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dares to follow.
Need Series by Carrie Jones
Need (Need Series #1)
Zara collects phobias the way other high school girls collect lipsticks. Little wonder, since life's been pretty rough so far. Her father left, her stepfather just died, and her mother's pretty much checked out. Now Zara's living with her grandmother in sleepy, cold Maine so that she stays, "safe." Zara doesn't think she's in danger, she thinks her mother can't deal.
Wrong. Turns out that guy she sees everywhere, the one leaving trails of gold glitter, isn't a figment of her imagination. He's a pixie, and not the cute, lovable kind with wings. He's the kind who has dreadful, uncontrollable needs. And he's trailing Zara.
With suspense, romance, and paranormal themes, this exciting breakout novel has all the elements to keep teens rapidly turning the pages.

Rating: 3.5 Stars
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance

Bethany and Xavier are even closer since battling Jake Thorn and his evil influence and Beth and her angel silblings must still protect Venus Cove form the Dark Forces.
When a party game, a seance, inadvertenly releases Jake from the Underworld, he disguises himself and tricks Beth learns too late that she's now a prisoner in hell What happens to angels in Hell? As her archangel brother, Gabriel, her sister Ivy, Xavier and her best friend, Molly search for her, Beth must weigh Jake's bargaining for her freedom: one night with him, and she will be released back to Earth.
Can Jake be trusted in this wager? And is he also using Beth to engineer the fall of the archangel Gabriel? Xavier has already lost one love, when Jake tricks him into thinking that Bethany is dead, his grief and anger result in a betrayal that will leave Bethany wondering if he is so good after all.
It will be up to Beth to use everything she's learned about her powers as an angel and about love to gree herself and those she loves from the clutches of Hades.
I'll admit that when I began this book I didn't have high expectation. It definitely surprised me though. It was a little slow in the beginning and took me a minute to get into it, but once I did I really liked it. I grew closer to loving the characters and enjoyed Bethany in this book. She gains bravery and confidence. I liked how Adornetto portrayed Hell, and the background stories of the fallen angels. It really entertained me throughout most of the book.
Although I enjoyed the 2nd book in the series a great deal more, I still gave this book 3.5 stars. Definitely a cute book and had some fun action. I am looking forward to book 3 Heaven.

Lets Read Hades by Alexandra Adornetto
Heaven help her.
Bethany Church is an angel sent to Earth to keep dark forces at bay. Falling in love was never part of her mission, but the bond between Beth and her mortal boyfriend, Xavier Woods, is undeniably strong. But even Xavier’s love and the care of her archangel siblings, Gabriel and Ivy, can’t keep Beth from being tricked into a motorcycle ride that ends up in Hell. There, the demon Jake Thorn bargains for Beth’s release back to Earth. But what he asks of her will destroy her, and quite possibly her loved ones, as well.
The story that Alexandra Adornetto built in her New York Times–bestselling debut, Halo, comes alive in action-packed and unexpected ways, as angels battle demons and the power of love is put to the test.

Book Review for
Halo By Alexandra Adnoretto
Rating: 3 Stars
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance
Pages: 484
Published Date: Aug 2010
Heaven has sent three angels to Venus Cove to help keep it a safe place. The Archangel Gabriel, whose good looks and warrior mastery are unmatched. Ivy, the good angel who has healing abilities and helps to inspire millions. Then there is Bethany, the younger sister, only 17. She is the newest angel of them all to come down to earth. Her emotions are deeper than ever known, and she's more human than the other angels.
To assimilate into regular human life in Venus Cove, the angels set themselves up around a local Christian school. Bethany enrolls as a student, Gabriel is a teacher, and Ivy is the homebody that does charity events. Bethany learns a lot about being human with a lot of mistakes along the way. Bethany then meets Xavier Woods. Kind and sexy and everything good in the world, he becomes smitten with Bethany.
The only problem is that angels and humans shouldn't fall in love. They're two different beings, never meant to intermix or make love. Xavier isn't even allowed to know about who she really is. The love between them is strong but many strong forces, good & evil will try the couple as the angels begin to discover what's going on behind the scenes in Venus Cove. Halo is the start to a three book series that promises angelic passions and a look into subtle evil of the world.
When I first got the book, I fell in love with the cover. I mean who wouldn't. It's beautiful and Bethany's wings are exquisite. Although the book cover was pretty I did have to give this book 3/5 Stars. The beginning was promising, and I did enjoy learning about the 3 angels characters. When Bethany and Xavier met I felt like I couldn't put the book down. I loved the way Bethany told Xavier about her true self and loved reading about how their love grew.
Unfortunately, the middle and end didn't keep me as interested. I felt Bethany didn't have a backbone and at times she just annoyed me. Although I did enjoy the character Jake Thorn and Bethany's encounters with him. I felt the author could have taken this book in another direction. I still enjoyed the read and I am looking forward to finishing her series and reading Hades.
Please comment about your thoughts and feelings on the book!

Fun Reading Fact
Reading will Improve your memory: Many studies show if you don't use your memory, you may lose it. Crossword puzzles are an example of a word game that staves off Alzheimer's. Reading, although not a game, helps you stretch your memory muscles in a similar way. Reading requires remembering details, facts and figures and in literature, plot lines, themes and characters.

Fun Reading Fact
Reading improves your vocabulary: Remember in elementary school when you learned how to infer the meaning of one word by reading the context of the others words in the sentence? You get the same benefit from book reading. While reading books, especially challenging ones, you will find yourself exposed to many new words you wouldn't be otherwise.

Overview
Three angels are sent down to bring good to the world: Gabriel, the warrior; Ivy, the healer; and Bethany, a teenage girl who is the least experienced of the trio. But she is the most human, and when she is romantically drawn to a mortal boy, the angels fear she will not be strong enough to save anyone—especially herself—from the Dark Forces.
