About the Book:

Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies…

That’s what seventeen-year-old Sky realizes after she meets Dean Holder. A guy with a reputation that rivals her own and an uncanny ability to invoke feelings in her she’s never had before. He terrifies her and captivates her all in the span of just one encounter, and something about the way he makes her feel sparks buried memories from a past that she wishes could just stay buried.

Sky struggles to keep him at a distance knowing he’s nothing but trouble, but Holder insists on learning everything about her. After finally caving to his unwavering pursuit, Sky soon finds that Holder isn’t at all who he’s been claiming to be. When the secrets he’s been keeping are finally revealed, every single facet of Sky’s life will change forever.

My Review:

I love it when book surprise you.  I could not put this book down.  Hoover wrote about a sensitive topic, but did it in a beautiful way.

It's rare when a book makes me laugh and cry, but this book did it.  Such a beautifully told story.  Definitely liked Hoover's writing style and will read more of her books in the future.

Week 1

Let's start this weekend and see how far we can get.  Great weather for some reading.

Let's Read Passion by Lauren Kate

Luce would die for Daniel.

And she has.  Over and over again.  Throughout time, Luce and Daniel have found each other, only to be painfully torn apart: Luce dead, Daniel left broken and alone.  But perhaps it doesn't need to be that way...

Luce is certain that something or someone in a past life can help her in her present one.  So she begins the most important journey of this lifetime.. going back eternities to witness firsthand her romances with Daniel.. and finally unlock the key to making their love last.

Cam and the legions of angels and Outcasts are desperate to catch Luce, but none are frantic as Daniel..  He chases Luce through their shared posts, terrified of what might happen if she rewrites history.  Because their romance for the ages could go up in flames.. forever.

Book Review for Torment by Lauren Kate

Torment by Lauren Kate

Hell on earth.

That's what it's like for Luce to be apart from her fallen angel boyfriend Daniel.  It took them an eternity to find one another, but now he has told her he must go away.  Just long enough to hunt down the Outcasts-immortals who want to kill Luce.  Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students: Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.

At shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives.  Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn't told her everything.  He's hiding something - something dangerous.

To be honest with you, it took me forever to get thought this book.  Clearly because it was Torment for me.   Okay maybe a little harsh but I did have to make myself finish reading something I had very little interest in.  I did have high hopes, and sadly felt disappointed as I kept reading.  I just couldn't understand Luce and her horrible attitude.  Daniel was off fighting for there love & relationship and there Luce was complaining the entire time.  I really was also hoping for some answers and for some information about Luce's past.  I felt at the end of the book I had more question then when I first started it.

I am giving this book 2 stars and I will read Passion only to hopefully get some answers.
